Because of You: Lives Are Changing in the Celiac Community Every Day
At Celiac Canada, we know that behind every diagnosis, there’s a story. And because of supporters like you, those stories are changing. Stories of fear becoming stories of hope, isolation turning into community, and illness transforming into thriving health.
Take Alice’s story.
Alice* was diagnosed with celiac disease as a baby in the late 1940s. Back then, her condition was simply called “failure to thrive” because no one yet understood what celiac disease was. Treatment meant little more than a diet of rice and bananas.
Fast forward to today: thanks to decades of research, education, advocacy, and community support, much of it made possible by people like you, Alice and countless others are living healthier, more empowered lives. From “failure to thrive” to flourishing.
