Golden Glow Smoothie

 

We know what you might be thinking… carrot in a smoothie? Trust us, this smoothie is delicious and jam packed with nutritious ingredients. You can use fresh turmeric or dried turmeric; if using fresh turmeric, you will want to use a ½ – 1” piece. Pairing the turmeric with black pepper improves the absorption of the curcumin in the turmeric, which is the anti-inflammatory compound toted to help with inflammation. You can add a little bit of vanilla protein powder for adults to start the day, if desired!

 

Makes 2 servings

Total Time: 5 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup frozen mango
    • 1 frozen banana
    • 1 carrot, peeled and cut into chunks
    • 1 orange, peeled
    • 1 cup milk of choice
    • ½ inch piece peeled ginger root
    • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
    • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons hemp hearts
    • Pinch of black pepper

    Instructions

    Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
