Celebrating Celiac Canada’s 2025 Successes – and What’s Ahead for 2026

January 28, 2026

The Celiac Canada team and volunteers are already hard at work on our 2026 priorities, guided by our 2025–27 strategic planWe’re excited about the initiatives underway to help us get closer than ever to our goals of finding, treating, and ultimately curing celiac disease.

Before we dive into the new year, let’s take a moment to celebrate everything we accomplished in 2025thanks to the tremendous support of our donors, sponsors, and everyone across the country who championed our efforts.

2025 by the Numbers

Advocacy

  • 5,000 letters sent during our National Election Campaign in April.

  • 33,800+ signatures collected on our tax fairness and affordability e-petition – amplifying the voice of Canadians with celiac disease.

  • Engaged in 27 key government and stakeholder meetings to advance advocacy and policy discussions.

Awareness and Education

  • 5,600+ participants registered for Celiac Canada webinars.

  • 33,000+ individuals found support through our Facebook Group and Help Desk.

  • 47,000+ subscribers stayed informed through our monthly newsletter.

  • 1,400+ people completed our Symptom Checklist—helping them answer the question, “Could it be celiac?”

  • 195 students registered to deliver presentations as part of the Kids Teaching Kids program during Celiac Awareness Month in May.

Fundraising Report

We are so thankful to every Celiac Canada funder, large and small.  Every dollar makes such a difference in this “small but mighty” charity.

As we approached the end of 2025, we were concerned about meeting our general fundraising budget of $939,000. However, we ended the year at $922,659 – 98% of our goal!

This is so encouraging, as 2025 was a banner year for missional impact, and we worked hard to ensure that all of Celiac Canada’s programs were paid for by December 31.  We have big plans for 2026, each designed to advance even further our mission to find, treat and cure celiac disease.

Once again, you came through, and we are so deeply humbled by the confidence you place in our Celiac Canada team and programs.

Building on Momentum: What’s Coming in 2026

We’re ready to make 2026 another landmark year. Here’s what’s ahead:

  • Refreshing our website to make tools and information for living gluten free even easier to find.

  • Launching an enhanced Symptom Checklist to help even more people recognize the signs of celiac disease and start conversations with their healthcare providers.

  • Continuing to advocate for gluten-free food affordability, better labelling and improving access to safe food for our most vulnerable.

  • Hosting an exciting lineup of educational webinars, starting with a new Gluten Free 101 in February.

  • Celebrating Celiac Awareness Month with programs and events in communities across Canada this May.

  • Continuing to invest in research for a cure and provide monthly blogs to help bring more awareness to the latest studies.

  • Representing Celiac Canada at conferences, meetings, and working groups so we can continue to monitor and report on research advancements from around the world.
